Lafayette Square is the second oldest park located in New Orleans, Louisiana.

The park is located in the Central Business District. The park is the location of many free events that occur throughout the year. It is also a beautiful place to go and relax.

Jazz festivals, school bands, children's choirs have performed in Lafayette Square for over 100 years. Now top musicians play on Wednesday evenings all summer long. During the fall, visitors can enjoy the blues music festival. There are parades, BBQ festivals, and much more events that use Lafayette Square as a backdrop.

Lafayette Square is rich in history. It was designed by Don Carlos Trudeau in 1788. It was later named for the Marquis de Lafayette who fought on the side of the Americans during the Revolutionary War. In the center of the square is a statue of Henry Clay. Other statues on the grounds include John McDonough and Benjamin Franklin. The park was damaged during Hurricane Katrina. The trees were damaged and glass and other debris from nearby buildings covered the park making it unsafe for visitors. Residents and those who work in the area formed the Lafayette Square Conservancy and turned the space back into a park for all to enjoy.
