At this historic plantation, you will learn true history - slavery was a dark period in American history and the tour of Whitney Plantation does not gloss over that fact. Instead, it gives you an informative and truthful recount of the events that happened at plantations such as these. You will also be able to see the various historic buildings that are found on the sprawling grounds. There are museum exhibits throughout as well, each highlighting stories from the slaves who lived and worked here as well as beautiful memorial artwork and statues.
After spending the day strolling around these estates and learning about the history that consumed the grounds, you will be transported back to New Orleans.
