General Jackson Showboat Overview

  • At 300-feet long, the General Jackson Showboat is the largest paddle wheel boat in the world! It is also styled in the grand tradition of its namesake, which was the first steamboat to operate on the Cumberland River in 1817. Today's General Jackson Showboat is no less active than its predecessor.

Your General Jackson Showboat Cruise

  • Depart from Opry Mills and the Gaylord Resort and travel to downtown Nashville via the beautiful Cumberland River. Along the way, enjoy the charming cruise atmosphere, complete with a masterfully decorated main ballroom and theatre hall, high-energy live entertainment, and a dining experience which has the feel of a Broadway production.
  • When the impressive General Jackson Showboat reaches the downtown area, you'll catch a glimpse of the Tennessee Titan's Coliseum, Riverfront Park, Second Avenue, the Wildhorse Saloon, Ryman Auditorium, and more. Here, the mammoth paddle wheeler will make an incredible turn-around in at the wide spot in the river.
  • If you choose lunch on the General Jackson Showboat, you'll be treated to an exquisite luncheon buffet and entertainment provided by strolling musicians. The evening cruise features scrumptious chef's selections on the buffet, with a nine-piece swing band providing lovely dinner ambiance. After making the turnaround downtown, the stage is cleared and reset for an entertaining show.

Whether you choose the luncheon cruise or the dinner cruise aboard the General Jackson Showboat, you're sure to leave with some of your most memorable vacation experiences ever. Bring your significant other or take the kids along for an exciting yet relaxing ride on this famous showboat!

General Jackson Showboat Lunch & Dinner Cruises
The entire staff was very friendly & professional. The food, especially the prime rib, was very good. The service was fast & everything ran as smooth as possible. When the show started after dinner it was non-stop entertainment. Show included singing, dancing and numerous costume changes. The show was outstanding all of the performers are very talented. A must see in nashville.

This was great also. It gave you a funny feeling to stand on the stage knowing that all those famous singers had stood in the same place and had all those lights on them just like you were seeing. It was cool!

The general jackson cruise at christmas has been a family tradition for the last several years. We are hoping to be there again this year. I love to see the glow on my daughter's face when we board the boat. We have never left the boat without the christmas love and full bellies from the show. The food is always wonderful and my two grandsons are always ready to eat. Would recommend this experience to all and hope that it will become your family tradition.
