Sundy Best At Grand Ole Opry
From country, bluegrass, rock, soul, and rhythm and blues, the Sundy Best duo produces music that can be hard to classify. But all Kris Bentley and Nick Jamerson need is the strum of guitar strings and Kris’s cajon driving the beat.
Friends since elementary school, Kris and Nick grew up singing in their church for fun while starring in high school sports in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. After college sports success for each, the friendship continued in music as they began playing patio parties, restaurants, and clubs, often playing 4-hour sets each night. They began bringing songs to each other and creating their own style and sound together, until in 2012 they decided to record some of these songs that they self-produced with their friend and filmmaker Coleman Saunders. That year, they independently released Door Without a Screen.
The Country Music Television channel discovered them in 2013 and began playing their video “Home” in late April, which has been in the Top 5 at CMT Pure since the debut. Entertainment One, the leading independent film, TV, and music company, quickly signed them to a multi-album deal later that year.
Sundy Best’s lyrics describe the lives of Kris and Nick’s families, friends, and fans, as well as themselves. Every song is a reminder that they have not forgotten where they came from, but also where they are heading, with solid, real, and relatable songs. The band’s visceral sound and incredible live shows have gained them a loyal fan base.
