Racing fans will be able to find plenty of fun in Music City at the Fairgrounds motor sport Speedway in Nashville, TN. When guests visit the speedway, they will be up close and personal with some of the best race car drivers in the state. Root for your favorite driver as they zoom across the stylish track to claim victory or succumb to defeat. The track type is known as a short track, as it is comprised of about .5 of a mile. This track is also shaped in an 18-degree banked paved oval and was repaved in 1996.

As well as hosting plenty of races throughout the year, the Speedway is home to the All American 400. At first, though, it was home to horseless carriage and motorcycle races. It wasn't until 1904, after the St. Louis World's Fair, that they started car racing. In 1915, annual events began and many racers from all over the United States were drawn to the Nashville track. From there, the track began to grow, drawing many visitors each year to the races.

If you love racing and are looking to add a fun event to your next Music City getaway, make sure to visit the Fairgrounds Speedway for a look into racing's extensive history. Cheer on your favorite driver and enjoy family time thanks to America's favorite past time.
