Canaan Smith At Grand Ole Opry
One of country's newest artists, Canaan Smith is a singer/songwriter got his start when he moved to Nashville to pursue music in 2009. That year, he co-wrote the hit “Runaway” for the band Love and Theft. The song made it No. 10 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs list. Also that year, he landed a publishing deal with Disney Music Publishing giving him the chance to write songs for greats such as Jason Aldean, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Amy Grant. In early 2012, he released his debut single, “We Got Us,” which reached No. 53 on Billboard's Country Music Charts. Other songs on his debut album include “I Like It That Way,” “All In My Head.” and “Prettiest Girl In Town.” He has been dubbed by Country Weekly as “One to watch in 2012.” Canaan Smith made his Grand Ole Opry debut on February 18, 2012.
