William Hill Estate Winery is located at the Silverado Bench in southern Napa Valley, CA. Three decades into its history, this vineyard has become an ideal location below the hills. The William Hill Estate Winery, like others, is a serene vineyard that is hidden in the Silverado Trail. However, this is the true essence of Napa Valley wine making.
Set on a long and narrow strip of land, bounded by distinctly steeper slopes both above and below it, this winery is set off of the valley floor. Its southwestern exposure creates a thick layer of sunlight for the vines. The vineyard is relatively close to the valley floor, but due to the the volcanic soil and the vast vines vines, this winery more closely represents a mountaintop vineyard. Because of these structural elements, William Hill Winery is elegant and produces the finest red Bordeaux wines.
This 140-acre winery should be a stopping point for any visitor to Napa Valley. Unlike some other wineries in the area, William Hill Winery produces small, dense berries, due to the geology of its soil. This creates a more intense, deep wine for the visitors to enjoy. Visitors can experience the expertise of winemaker, Mark Williams, who has created such a specific chart for his vineyard blocks in order to optimize ripeness and fermentation of his grapes. Mark is able to bring full bodied wine from the vineyard for his visitors to experience.
