Paraduxx is a winemaking facility located on the Silverado Trail in picturesque Napa Valley, California. Halfway between the Mayacamas and the Vaca Mountains, Paraduxx includes a winery, a storage facility for barrels, and an event space, the Vineyard House.
Founded in 1994, Paraduxx was created to allow the winemakers of the established Duckhorn Wine Company a greater degree of creative latitude. Whereas Duckhorn Vineyards is known for its Bordeaux varietals, Paraduxx winemakers focused on incorporating grapes native to California. Today, Paraduxx is a blend-focused winery. Its signature blend mixes Cabernet Sauvignon with California’s own Zinfandel and smaller amounts of other varietals. According to winemaker Don LaBorde, Paraduxx pursues wines that are robust, yet balanced.
Nestled between symmetrical barrel cellers, the heart of the Paraduxx facility is its fermentation center, a dramatic, ten-sided structure intended to be reminiscent of the area’s traditional round barns. Wine tasting takes place at the Vineyard House, where visitors sample different Paraduxx blends. Cheese is also on offer, as are views of the Napa Valley. Paraduxx is located in the Yountville Viticultural Area.
Stop by Paraduxx when you’re in Napa Valley to sample distinctive wine blends in a unique space. Paraduxx is a worthy stop on any wine tour, and only an amble away from all the amenities of Napa, including spas, resorts and, of course, wineries. Paraduxx and the Napa Valley are within easy driving distance of three international airports: San Francisco International Airport, Oakland International Airport and Sacramento International Airport.
