Myrtle Beach is a much loved city in South Carolina and is one of the favorite tourist destinations along the east coast of the United States.

The Grand Strand is that famed stretch of beaches that extend over the coast of South Carolina. Known for its beauty, sand, and surf, the Grand Strand is a major attraction of the state.

Other attractions include aquariums, theaters, and sports such as football. Football fans might already know the Shaw Memorial Stadium home of the Seahawks. The stadium itself has been around since the late 1960s, it was not until 1995 that the stadium's name went from Memorial Stadium to Doug Shaw Memorial Stadium. Named for Doug Shaw, an amazing coach that led his teams to 223 win, with 77 losses and 2 ties; Coach Shaw enjoyed 25 years as coach with 23 of those years seeing playoffs.

Shaw Memorial Stadium is located within Myrtle Beach and is no exclusively used for football. Track and field, soccer, and really anything else is held at the stadium which can easily accommodate all of these events and activities. Recently restored, the Shaw Memorial Stadium now enjoys state of the art facilities and accommodations without loosing that old charm that many residents of Myrtle Beach grew up loving.
