Each year, the Carolina Opry hosts its Christmas Special. The grand setting of the Carolina Opry theater is the perfect place to host a huge holiday celebration like this. This show includes a talented cast of 35 performers who will sing and dance with the full spirit of the season shining through. You will hear your favorite holiday tunes, including those from The Twelve Days of Christmas and the Beautiful Star of Bethlehem. The spectacular holiday-themed costumes and sets create a vivid winter wonderland scene, just perfect for remembering the reason for the season. This show typically runs on select dates in both November and December.
Each year at the Brookgren Gardens in Murrells Inlet, the Nights of a Thousand Candles festival lightens the hearts and warms the souls of visitors and locals to the area. This festival features thousands of twinkling lights brightening the walkways of gorgeous gardens. The festival includes talented musical performers, and a full holiday meal with traditional low country favorites. The Nights of a Thousand Candles festival runs on select nights throughout the month of December.
At James Island County Park each year, you can take a three mile drive through the famous Festival of Lights. Since 1989, people have flocked to these special event to enjoy the vividly festive holiday light displays and share in the holiday spirit with caroling and snacks. The Festival of Lights also includes a hands-on activity that allows you to create your own light display. The event runs during evening hours from mid November throughout the month of December.
In early December, Broadway at the Beach hosts its annual Myrtle Beach Holiday Parade. This special event benefits Toys for Tots. The festivities begin with special performances before the parade. Then the parade begins, with plenty of holiday tunes, festive floats, and even a visit from Old Saint Nick himself. There is a VIP viewing area, as well as plenty of snack and hot chocolate stations, creating the perfect holiday parade experience.
