San Miguel Mission is a National Historical Landmark located in San Miguel, California.<

The mission was originally founded in 1797 and thought to be a very precious part of the state's rich history. It received its name from Archangel Saint Michael and was founded by Franciscan Father Fermin Francisco de Lasuen. It was to serve as a stop to close the long distance gap between Mission San Antonio in the North and Mission San Luis Obispo in the South. Father Buenaventura Sitjar baptized 25 youth on the day the mission was established. The San Miguel Mission is home to lots of local events like craft fairs, bake sales, potlucks, Mass, and holiday celebrations. Local church services still continue to this day in the mission. The mission also features a museum that showcases local culture and history.

The mission features the beautiful Spanish style of the time it was built, and though it has been restored, it still features the original paintings inside.
