Description

The Luxembourg Cultural Center in Milwaukee is a wonderful place to visit because it provides you with the history of the country and the immigrants who came here. The Grand Duchy used to be larger, and you will see a lot of history of the people who have been a part of the Grand Duchy and their people.

You will walk into this place when you are coming through the city, and you should plan to get your admission at the door. You might want to get your admission at home, and it would be very easy for you to bring the tickets when the time comes. You are given free reign of the place for the rest of the day so that you can enjoy it in all its fullness.

You must plan to come to this place when you want to see how this country has been represented in the US. The whole country has its history there somewhere in the museum, ands it changes how you think about this place. You should get some pictures, and you should get some historical documents to read.

The tour of this museum is self-guided, and you can bring the whole family or tour group to look around. You could have a good time in this place, learn, and spend less.

The kids who are trying to learn about history will love this museum, and the adults might want to reflect on their heritage if this is where their families came from. The museum bring it all to life in one place.
Tucked away along the shores of Lake Michigan, halfway between Milwaukee and Sheboygan, lies the small town of Belgium, WI. Home to less than 2,000 inhabitants and dozens of small farms, the area has a rich history of European immigration and cultural diversity dating back to the late 19th and early 20th century. Although many Germans, French, and Swiss made it to the shores of the lake during this golden age of American expansion and immigration, it was the tiny duchy of Luxembourg that looms large to many of the residents of this small Wisconsin town.

The Cultural Center offers you an intimate opportunity to learn more about one of Europe's smallest nations and the people who called it their home. See exhibits explaining the way of life many of these people left behind and why they were so desperate to build new ones in the American midwest. Find out what this new life was like along the shores of the Lake Michigan and how the communities and culture these people built impact the town today. If you are of Luxembourger decent, you can investigate at the research library and try to match your family lineage to records dating back to the 1640s.

The Museum is open to the public on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays  from 10:00 am - 4:00 pm and by appointment during normal business hours the rest of the week.
