Key West Ghost Hunt
For those that are interested in the Supernatural one of the hands down best tours that you could go on is the Key West Ghost Hunt where you are taken through the town on a ninety minute tour in which you visit several places of haunting at night to see if you can spot any of the ghosts that live around there. The tour is not recommended for those under the age of five and it is an all walking tour so that should be kept in mind if you have any mobility issues. Overall the tour is said to knock your socks off as really allows you to soak up the atmosphere of the places. During the tour there are six to eight stops before returning to the start area where you need to check in for the tour around fifteen minutes early. In the town though there are twenty different areas so what stops you go to each night are a little bit differently thus you can go on multiple tours and get a different experience each and every time.
The tour is reasonably priced but ticket have to be bought ahead of time you can’t just walk on the time of the tour and expect to go on it you have to plan a little ahead. But because the tour is only done in small groups then you also should plan a bit ahead of time because of the fact that if you don’t plan ahead there is a chance that you won’t be going on the tour you wanted to go on.
Your tour will depart at 9:30pm from the former ticket office of Pan American Airways, home to more than a dozen ghosts. When you check in for your tour, you will be given ghost hunting equipment (with a choice of K-2 meters or infrared laser thermometers and l-rods). These will help you detect any paranormal activity. Feel free to grab a drink from the bar before you start your tour.
This is a 90-minute walking tour, which travels a total of 7 blocks on some of Key West's oldest streets. Stops vary, but usually include a site of a hanging, a visit to a spirit portal with shadow people, inside a haunted hotel and a few other locations the guide selects based on activity. There are more than 20 haunted locations along the path and the tour usually includes 6-8 of them. Most nights the tour concludes with a visit inside the former masonic lodge.
Your guide will share the haunted history of this island and introduce additional ghost hunting equipment, including a device that allows you to communicate with the dead called a 'spirit box'. The tour is historic, authentic, interactive and entertaining. Both believers and non-believers will have a good time. Sightings and paranormal encounters are not guaranteed, but they are common.
Your tour concludes with a cleansing to ensure no hitchhiking ghosts hang around.
