The Majestic near Washington, DC

911 King St. Alexandria, VA 22314
The Majestic is a cafe that originally opened in 1932.

John Gadonas originally opened the Majestic on 622 King Street before relocating to 911 King Street in 1949. The cafe serves steak, poultry, and seafood, as well as a host of other items. The Majestic stands out from other cafes and restaurants because they serve all-natural, hormone free meet, poultry, and seafood, as well as support local farmers and ranchers.

Part of what makes the Majestic such an interesting place to visit is their history. When the Majestic was open from 1932 to 1978, it was designed with an Art Deco façcade, which made it unique from other cafes. When the Majestic reopened in 2001, it was able to maintain the uniqueness of what made the Majestic special. Part of what makes the Majestic special is the Art Deco façcade, the two original neon signs, the terrazzo floor, and the booths and banquets.

There is also some more history to the Majestic that makes it unique. The chairs are made from a 1945 design from Thonet. The Bar also has some historical significance with Art Deco light fixtures that were part of the original Majestic.

The Majestic should be special to everyone. It has historical significance with its designs and what it has accomplished to reopen in 2001. It also boasts of rich, delicious food. When visiting the Majestic there is also Old Town Alexandria to visit as well the George Washington Memorial. Overall, the Majestic is more than a cafe, it is a place with historical pride and a great place to dine.
