The tour will last for two and a half-hours and will start at the Indiana Plaza. See the Temperance Fountain which was given to DC to show support for Prohibition. Next, visit some of the best cocktail bars DC has to offer. Relax and try some signature cocktails, talk to the bartenders, and even learn how to make some of their favorite cocktails. The guide will take the group underground to an authentic DC speakeasy. The final stop is a penthouse to enjoy the view of the city below.
Hopefully, after the tour is complete, there will be a new appreciation for that favorite cocktail. DC has a long history when it comes to alcohol steaming all the way back to George Washington to the craft breweries of today. Your DC cocktail tour will start in Indiana Plaza, the site of the famous Temperance Fountain gifted to DC to show support for Prohibition. From there, we'll take you to visit three of DC's best cocktail bars where we'll sample drinks, meet the people behind the bars, and learn how their craft cocktails are made.
We'll take you underground to a classic, underground DC speakeasy, to the penthouse for a breathtaking view of the city and everywhere in between.
Along the way, you'll uncover how cocktails have played a massive part in DC's history, learn how Prohibition shaped the city, and discover the local distilling movement that's returning. By the time you're done, you'll never look at cocktails in quite the same way.
