Maswik Lodge North
When touring the canyons, Maswik Lodge is a great place to stay. Rooms are clean and well maintained and staff is welcoming and polite. Rooms are non smoking and located in 12, two story buildings, accessible to guests from outside walkways and stairwells. There have been many changes since the original building of the lodge but the cultural history is still rich. The lodge is even named after who is said to guard the Grand Canyon, Hopi Kachina.
The features of the rooms at Maswik Lodge consist of an in room Keurig coffee maker, a refrigerator, cable television and a telephone, as well as, air conditioning and a safe for special belongings. The rooms are all nonsmoking and also give guests the option of either two queen size beds or one king size, with roll away beds available as well. The lodge is located close to the Grand Canyon Depot, a railroad station that was built in the early 1900s that you can catch a ride on.
Maswik offers several options for dining. If you would like a quick snack or a full meal, there is a food court that offers something for everyone. There are four different food stations that include breakfast, lunch and dinner, including burgers, hot sandwiches and deli sandwiches. There are even 'to go' containers for those wanting to go for a hike. Besides the cafeteria area at Maswik there are also several other dining options on the property.
