Description
Grand Canyon Railroad Excursion, Scenic Guided Rim Tour & Navajo Reservation Full Day Tour Photos (11)

Experience the history of Arizona, see the best viewpoints along the canyon rim, and enjoy a picnic lunch at the canyon itself on this fantastic tour, the Grand Canyon Railroad Excursion, Scenic Guided Rim Tour & Navajo Reservation Full Day Tour.

On this all-day tour, you will get the best of all worlds, along with convenient hotel pick-up at any hotel in Sedona or Flagstaff. The tour starts out from the Red Rocks of Sedona before heading through the Oak Creek Canyon and towering Ponderosa Pines in the Flagstaff area. After picking up any guests staying in Flagstaff, the group heads to the train depot in Williams, Arizona, for a two-hour train ride on the Grand Canyon Railroad. Enjoy the wayward tunes of strolling musicians as the train offers fantastic views of the San Francisco peaks, valleys full of beautiful wildflowers, dense pine forests, high desert plains, and small canyons.

Upon arrival at the train depot in Grand Canyon Village, you will meet your knowledgeable guide, who will entertain you throughout the day with interesting and informative narration. Enjoy a delicious boxed lunch before heading out on a fantastic tour of the East Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park. This four-hour tour gives you the opportunity to explore the rim of the canyon, making a stop at Grandview Point, the transition between the East and South Rims which offers open views of the Colorado River Gorge as seen from the East Rim and the butte-filled views for which the South Rim is known. Then, climb up to the top of the Watchtower Observatory, one of the crowning achievements of architect Mary Jane Colter, for a wonderful panoramic view of the Grand Canyon.

After the tour, the group will stop at the Historic Cameron Trading Post location on the Navajo Reservation. Originally built in 1916, the trading post is one of the finest places to shop for authentic Native American souvenirs. Nearby, you can check out The Gallery, which houses many beautiful pieces of Native American Arts and Crafts. Also on the return trip to Flagstaff and Sedona, you can see scenic views of the western edge of the Painted Desert and a relaxing drive along the Little Colorado River Gorge.

Many other Grand Canyon-goers miss the fantastic views available on this all-day tour, and many miss out on the fun Grand Canyon Railroad journey into the park. This tour will give you some of the best views available at the Grand Canyon, as well as a historical viewpoint to look through on your journey.
