Description

Experience a once-in-a-lifetime moment that is the essence of Alaska with this Northern Lights Lodge Viewing in Fairbanks. This five-hour guided tour will take you to one of the best viewing lodges in the area to see the Northern Lights. You'll also hear a history of the area and all your questions will be answered in this breathtaking and informative trip.

The Northern Lights - or Aurora Borealis - are seen near both the North and South Pole and are caused when electrically charged particles collide with the Earth's atmosphere. Aurora Borealis means 'dawn of the north' and they have great spiritual meaning for the Alaskan natives. The Inuit of Alaska believed the multi-colored lights represented the spirits of the animals they hunted, while other tribes believed the lights were the souls of departed friends and family.

Regardless of what you believe, the Northern Lights are a once-in-a-lifetime experience. The multi-colored lights dance across the sky and while they can be seen in cities such as Fairbanks, the full power of the lights needs to be experienced far away from the light pollution of civilization.

On this tour you'll have an unobstructed view far away from the city lights and other distractions of civilization. You'll be free to experience the power of the Northern Lights, accompanied by an experienced guide who can answer all of your questions.
You'll be picked up from your Fairbanks hotel and driven to one of the best viewing lodges in the Fairbanks area. The lodge is carefully selected to ensure that guests can gaze upon the Northern Lights with ease. Outside of Fairbanks and away from the city lights, these wide-open areas ensure a perfect way to take in Alaska's winter sky.

Share the evening with a knowledgeable guide and learn all about these dancing lights. Enjoy the sights from inside the lodge, or even step outside to snap some photographs of the brilliant sky .

After an eventful night of Aurora viewing, guests are returned to their Fairbanks accommodation at 3am.
