The 3.5 hour Everglades National Park Expedition first takes you on a 1.5 scenic drive from Fort Meyers to the park. Your expedition will begin on a small powerboat that seats 6 passengers comfortably. You will have a guide with you, photo opportunities, and a great platform to bird watch some of the state's exotic birds. Next, you will explore the Ten Thousand Islands through a nature tour where you will get to see much wildlife. This includes; pelicans, alligators, sea turtles, dolphins, manatees, herons, fish, and birds. You will also learn all about the culture and ecosystems in the area. It is encouraged to bring your own snacks, lunch, and refreshments on the boat, where you will be able to eat.
The Everglades was first established in 1947 for the conservation of the natural landscape, animals, and plants. There have been various groups of people who have navigated and lived through these lands, such as the Native Americans. There has been much work to restore and keep the Everglades around.
The Everglades National Park Expedition is a great opportunity to learn about precious ecosystems that are fragile and important to the land. You will also see wildlife that you wouldn't find in many parts of the U.S.
After a relaxing, scenic 1.5-hour drive from Fort Myers, arrive at the Florida Everglades National Park. Begin your small-group tour with a leisurely powerboat ride through the park with your guide. The boat is limited to six passengers and features comfortable seating and a large, stable platform for great bird watching and photo opportunities.
After, explore the beautiful Ten Thousand Islands on an interpretive nature tour. Learn about the area's rich heritage and culture, as well as its unique ecosystems, as your guide points out surrounding wildlife such as manatees, dolphins, sea turtles, bald eagles, herons, pelicans, alligators and numerous species of fish and shore birds.
Many species in the area are seasonal and inhabit various areas in different environmental conditions, so the tour will adapt according to the season. You are encouraged to bring your own lunch and refreshments to enjoy on the boat.
