The Spicer Orchards is not only a working productive farm but also a fun-filled family attraction. Located near Detroit, Michigan, the farm has a rich history dating back five generations of the Spicer family growing and selling their produce.
Over the years the Orchards that create the quality fruit became open to the public allowing individuals to come to pick their own. But this is just one of the activities that the public can enjoy on the farm. For the kids there are pony rides, large inflatables, and a large farm play area. For adults there is a chance to tour the farms new winery, doughnut production, and cider making. For the whole family there are hay rides, corn maze and a bee keeping display. As if this weren't enough, individuals can also plan for party events at the Spicer Orchards such as birthday parties and bonfire parties. Also, in mid September the Spicer Orchards holds an annual Harvest Festival event.
The farm itself is free to the public to enter along with picking fruit. However, there will be an extra cost for things such as food from vendors, the kids play ground, and the corn maze. Each additional attraction will have its own price per person. Spicer Orchards also has special package rates for school field trips that can be booked in advance. So, in the mood to pick your own fruit or just wish to see a beautiful historical place rich in farm history and just happen to be in the Detroit area then the Spicer Orchards are truly a spot to check out.
