Blake’s Orchard is a farm and orchard owned by brothers Paul and Pete and located in Armada, Michigan just outside of Detroit. The orchard features a variety of activities for the whole family to enjoy. Visitors can stop by the petting farm or pick their own apples, pears, strawberries and other fruit from the farm. Those who come hungry can also dine at the orchard’s restaurant or grab a donut to munch on while touring the site. Families can also enjoy hay and train rides, a hay maze and a haunted house around Halloween. For those looking to take a piece of Blake’s Orchard home with them, purchases can made at one of the orchard’s shops before departing.
In 2013 Blake’s Orchard owners decided to expand the production of its cider and created Blake’s Hard Cider Co. The company makes and distributes alcoholic cider from its $1.2 million, 12,000-square-foot production facility on the farm. The company also features a tasting room on the orchard premise where visitors can enjoy the popular hard ciders, wine and snacks. The cider company plans to move production to an off-site facility to allow for higher volumes so it can begin distributing outside Michigan.
For families looking to enjoy the fall weather, nothing is more in season than a trip to Blake’s Orchard. Children can enjoy the petting farm and haunted house and then stop over to the hay rides and hay mazes for a fun family adventure. After a long day of fall activities, parents can sip some hard cider while everyone dines at the orchard’s restaurant.
