The Quad City Arts Festival of Trees is one very popular event that takes place as fall turns into winter. A special "Holiday Parade" occurs in late November and the parade is an obvious celebration of the tradition of Christmas. The Festival of Trees takes on a completely new theme during Christmas as all the trees are wonderfully decorated and this provides an interesting visual display. Anyone who wants to see amazing Christmas trees may wish to travel past a few of the farms in the surrounding area. Incredible natural trees are on display and for sale all throughout the region.
Davenport, IA is named after Colonel George Davenport, a veteran of the Black Hawk War. The city is known for a host of popular music events, numerous intriguing museums, and several historical landmarks.
Anyone who visits Davenport at any time of the year has much to see and do. Christmas, however, is one of the most special seasons to visit here. Be sure to visit the German American Heritage Center when passing through Davenport as it displays the rich cultural heritage of the town's founding.
