Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga
At the Tennessee Aquarium in Chattanooga you'll learn all about some of the most awesome amphibians in their exhibits which include toads, newts, frogs, salamanders and more.
They offer a complete calendar of events for adults, kids and groups. The 'Bug Club' is a club for any kids that love bugs and other crawly things. They meet once a month for a gathering where they discuss their hobby. Other available activities include a River Gorge paddle to River Gardens, a touring kayak clinic, a Picture Chattanooga photo workshop and fishing excursions.
Different journeys and excursions are offered at different times of the year. A seven-night riverboat journey through the Amazon rainforest is one of their popular trips. A trip to the Antarctica is another journey where you'll not only get to see penguins but minke and hunchback whales, too. Icebergs are something every tourists loves seeing up close as well.
Next door to the Tennessee Aquarium, is the IMAX 3D Theater, a six story high building that offers clear 3D images of different shows and presentations, all with six channel IMAX digital sound. They offer film presentations of Sea Monsters, Grand Canyon and much more.
Tennessee Aquarium has a lot of fun activities schedules for visitors. Two of their most popular buildings are the River Journey and Ocean Journey, both which will be a truly enjoyable and learning experience. Be sure to bring your camera because you'll see over 12,000 different animals including reptiles, fish, invertebrates, amphibians, birds, butterflies and more. Their newest exhibit, Penguins' Rock is also now on display.
