Walking Tour of Charleston’s Historical District

From there discover an often overlooked path between the historic buildings which will lead you through the gardens and graveyard of the Unitarian Church and St. John's Lutheran Church.
Head on over to the Old City Jail where you will learn about the infamous criminals that were housed there including Lavinia Fisher and prisoners of war during the Civil War. Discover the story behind the Jenkins Orphanage band and their role in launching the international dance craze known as "The Charleston". Explore Harleston Village, one of the most charming neighborhoods in the Historic District and home of the famous Wentworth Mansion, as well as many other grand antebellum residences including the Isaac Jenkins Mikell House, frequently featured on the Bravo television show, "Southern Charm" and the Gaillard-Bennett House with one of the most impressive formal gardens in the city.
