The South Carolina Aquarium provides fun for the entire family at a reasonable price during your getaway. Experience countless sea creatures and learn about how all of the creatures live in the ocean, lakes, rivers, and more. The aquarium is a magical way to experience creatures that you wouldn't see on a normal basis. There is a child-friendly area for kids to learn about sea life in an educational experience and to play so that the parents can enjoy their day as well.

Most guests spend a few hours to the entire day adventuring through the aquarium and enjoying the amazing experiences. There are food and drinks available to purchase and over 60 spectacular exhibits to explore at the South Carolina Aquarium that is located on the historic Charleston Harbor. See and learn about tons of different wildlife such as river otters, alligators, hawks, pufferfish, crabs, pythons, owls, sea turtles, stingrays, jellyfish, sharks, and more including many animals that call this state home. Guests may choose admission only or upgrade their pass to see an educational film in 4-D at the on-site theatre.

Located in the downtown area of Charleston where the aquarium will take you and your family on an amazing journey from mountains to the oceans where you will see albino alligators, bald eagles, endangered sea turtles, and more of the wildlife in the geographic region of the state of South Carolina. There are nine galleries that feature thousands of amazing aquatic animals through more than 60 different exhibits where you can get up-close and personal with all the different types of wildlife.

The largest exhibit in the South Carolina Aquarium is 385 thousand gallon Ocean Tank. The exhibit stretches through two floors of the aquarium and contains tons of sea creatures to see. Kids will enjoy their time at the Touch Tank where the whole family can touch stingrays, horseshoe crabs, and other different marine life. Learn more about all these creatures while touching them with the helpful on-hand Aquarium staff to answer questions and give you more great facts on how these creatures live.
