The tour itself lasts approximately 4.5 hours and includes a guided walk through the Romantic Garden as well as a tour of the slave cabins, swamps, and rice fields. Throughout the 600 acre plantation, you’ll run into all sorts of local wildlife in the swamps, including alligators, herons, and turtles. Be sure to bring your camera.
The gardens at Magnolia Plantation
The gardens at Magnolia Plantation, open to the public since the 1870’s, attract tourists from around the world each year. Some sections of the garden remain from its earliest days in the 1670’s, which makes it the oldest unrestored garden in America. There is an amazing variety of flowers, with some in bloom year round, but springtime in the gardens is absolutely beautiful.
Round trip transportation is included, and the buses are climate-controlled and luxurious for a comfortable adventure. This tour is a fantastic way to learn all about the Magnolia Plantation and Gardens, and the rich history behind them.
