Cape Coral in Florida is the place to be at Christmas time, with its Christmas festivals celebrating this festive time of the year. To kick things off, Cape Coral has their very own lighting of the Christmas tree ceremony. Soon after the lights are shining brightly, the sky is lit up by a magnificent fireworks display, while the onlookers are sprinkled in glistening snowflakes from the snow machines. Downtown Parkway is closed for traffic as the streets are filled with business, craft and refreshments stands, along with many games, and fabulous demonstrations from the resident dance companies. The snow is very cleverly shaped into a sled course for the kids. The big cheese himself, Santa Clause, has come to town to visit with the children and to receive their Christmas wishes.
The second festival is the Cape Coral’s Christmas boat parade, which takes place at the Four Freedoms Park. All the boats that dock in Cape Coral are decorated with Christmas festivity, and lit up just for Christmas. Keep a watchful eye out for Santa and his elves as they have embarked on a few of these boats. The streets are decked with Christmas music and decorated trees to really get you into the Christmas spirit. Booths are laid out with refreshments and crafts to keep the entertainment going.
What a great place to be with family and friends around Christmas time, to join in with others and celebrate this magical time of the year.
