Fully Guided Kayaking Backwater Manatee and Dolphin Tour
Calm waters, freedom to paddle about, and the chance to see jumping fish, manatees, and dolphins will make this Guided Kayaking Backwater Manatee and Dolphin Tour in Cape Canaveral, Florida an adventure for the whole family. Parking is on site and the tour begins and ends at the same stop. All needed equipment is provided at the launch site.
Upon arrival, the knowledgeable guide will talk about the gear, safety, weather, kayaking basics, schedule and will answer any questions. After everyone from the group has launched, enjoy the freedom to paddle and enjoy the calm water. The group has the freedom to paddle anywhere that the guide decides is safe. Be on the lookout for waterlife that may decide to swim up to the kayak like manatees. Jumping fish, dolphins, otters, turtles, and other fish may join the group for some fun. The duration of the activity is two and half hours. Make sure to wear shoes and clothes that can get wet and bring sunscreen, towels, a waterproof bag for keys and phone, snacks and water if desired. Bring a change of dry clothes for the drive home.
This kayaking tour is the perfect way for a beginner to learn the basics of kayaking and it is perfect for kids. The calm waters make it fun for paddling along. Make sure to have a camera for taking pictures of the wildlife that come out to play.
After scheduling your outing and receiving directions to the launch area, we'll meet you on site at the scheduled time to greet you and get the kayaks and equipment to the water's edge ready for us to go. There will be parking on site, or you can arrange for shuttle/taxi service. All kayak trips begin and end at the same location, so parking on site is a breeze. At this time, we'll discuss trip expectations, our schedule, covering kayaking basics, safety, weather, and anything else you or we feel inclined to discuss to make you as comfortable as possible before we embark on our outing.
Once out on the water, you and your group will enjoy complete tranquility and freedom as we paddle wherever we wish, do whatever we want to do, and enjoy ourselves. Our waters are calm, more like a lake, even though it is a marine environment. There are no major tidal fluctuations or currents that you will have to manage. Typically, it will be just your group for your specific launch, but we do occasionally book multiple groups at the same launch at the same time.
Our fully guided outings last 2 to 2.5 hours, unless other arrangements have been made. This is shorter than the self-guide paddles so please do not confuse the two activities. While kayaking, be on the lookout for wildlife, including manatees, dolphins, marine turtles, shore birds, fish-eating raptors, jumping fish, otters and more. When we return, you'll have the freedom to leave immediately, call for your transportation if needed. We can stay with you while you wait if necessary.

We have multiple locations, and choose the ideal location based on weather and winds. The two most popular locations include Banana River Park, off of Puerto Del Rio Drive in Cape Canaveral, and our Thousand Islands Marine Sanctuary launch area. Both locations are central to Port Canaveral and Cocoa Beach. However, if you wish to walk from a cruise terminal, Banana River Park will be the location to launch from. It is about a 20 minute walk from Cruise Terminal #1 in Port Canaveral.
Thousand Islands Launch is not in walking distance. It is about a 15 minute drive from the Canaveral cruise terminals and about a 5 minute drive from downtown Cocoa Beach. We can assist in securing transportation, if necessary.
Departure Times: Typical, unless otherwise negotiated:
Daily launch times at 9:30am and 1:00pm. Flexible. We must communicate either by email, phone or text to set up a start time, and solidify the launch site.
