Playwright Ron Boutwell started writing Christian plays in 1969. Along with several students and actors from Southwest Baptist University, a vision was created to perform the spiritual acts by creating a full-time Christian theatre. The theatre was originally established in Springfield, Missouri, in 1983 before moving to its new home in Ozark, Missouri.
