The Marionville Applefest, held in September of each year, is a family-friendly community celebration of fall that is filled with games, music, food, and, of course, apples. Located in Marionville, Missouri, this festival is generally a three-day event with a little of something for everyone.
The opening ceremony, usually held on a Friday, is when the crowning of the King and Queen of the Festival happens, and is often followed by food and live music. The next day, the whole family can come and browse the many craft vendors set up on the square selling various handmade and personalized trinkets as well as one-of-a-kind crafts. There are pony rides and a carnival for kids featuring fun rides and bounce houses. Adults can wander through the restored classic cars at the car show, or take part in a pie eating contest—with apple pie, of course.
Aside from the general fair food that you'd expect, such as cotton candy, funnel cakes, and hot dogs, this festival is chock full of apple goodness. From apple cider to apple pie, caramel apples, fresh apples, and more, you're sure to get your fix at this fun festival.
The festival always closes with a community church service, and everyone is welcome to come and listen to the fantastic Gospel performances and attend the awards ceremony or pick up some prizes in the raffles and drawings.
This fall, come and enjoy the smells, sights and sounds of apples, music and more at the Marionville Applefest in Missouri. Even if you're not an apple fan, this old-fashioned community fair is sure to delight.
