The Top 5 Amazing Museums in Branson, MO

When most people envision Branson, MO they see a town glittering with the lights of dozens of amazing shows. After all, Branson is the "live music capital of the world." But does Branson have things to do other than sitting in theaters and watching performers? The answer is a resounding yes! In response to this question I have provided my list of the Top 5 Magical Museums in Branson. These museums provide a rousing good time for every member of the family and many of them bring people back again and again.

American Presidential Gallery - Spend a day that is both fun and educational at the American Presidential Gallery. Here you can learn about each man that has served the highest office in our country. From George Washington to George W. Bush, each president in our history is represented. The museum is full of great exhibits, including a replica of the Oval Office and an entire hall dedicated to the First Ladies of the United States.

Historic Homestead Tour - The Historic Homestead Tour isn't strictly a museum, but it is so great I had to include it in my list. Take a step back in time and experience what living on a Missouri homestead was like in the late 1800s. The tour usually lasts around an hour and provides views of Old Matt's Cabin, Wright Church, and even a cave nicknamed Little Pete's Cave. The cabin is furnished with many of its original furniture and includes many great antique items. Wright Church was built in the early 1900s and gives a great explanation of how important a community church was in those times.

Hollywood Wax Museum - Haven't you always wanted to stand beside Elvis, or take a picture with Marilyn Monroe. At the Hollywood Wax Museum in Branson, it is all possible...sort of. See wax figure of more than 170 popular characters and personalities. From the characters in "The Wizard of Oz" to popular celebrities like Johnny Depp and Robert Redford, you are sure to find one of your favorite celebrities among the statues. You will be amazed at the lifelike quality and the resemblance that these wax figures create. With two floors of fun, this museum should be at the list of anyone's Branson vacation plans.

Ripley's Believe It or Not Museum - For a zany time that includes seeing a two headed calf and learning how to properly kill a vampire, every member of the family will have a fantastic time at Ripley's. With over 400 oddities and exhibits, which feature a shrunken human head, optical illusions, and much more, you will leave this museum much more enlightened than when you came in. As unique as the exhibits on the inside is the exterior of the building. It was built with the Great Missouri Earthquake of 1812 in mind and is unusual to say the least.

Titanic- The Legend Continues - This is definitely the most compelling museum in Branson, and I believe, one of the most compelling in the country. As you walk in you are greeted with a ticket holding a name. As you wander through the museum filled with over 400 artifacts and amazing information about the voyage, you wonder what the name means. After you walk through a replica of the Grand Staircase and visit a room where you can experience the feeling of water only 28 degrees, you come to a memorial room. This is where the name on your ticket has the greatest impact. Find the name on your ticket and see if that person was a survivor, or tragically perished in the most infamous shipwreck of all time.

And there you have it, only five great museums among the many in Branson. These will provide a great respite from the usually round of live shows and theme parks also found in the city. I hope that you enjoy each and every one of these museums as they each feature interesting, and sometimes, off the wall exhibits that will leave each member of your family enthralled and happy.

Titanic - The Legend Continues - Branson, Missouri
I think i could have spent the entire day here. My husband just kept moving though, i don't know if he was just not as interested or if he was just skimming threw each display so we could go the next event we had planned (wine tasting) i wanted to read every display, and examine each item. I love the interacting displays. Giving each person a card with our passengers name and information on it was such a cool idea.
