More About America
The bandmates met while attending their London high school in the late 1960s and quickly became household names across the globe through their first hit, “A Horse With No Name”. The British band ironically named themselves America, and their music became the soundtrack for 70s rock. Gerry brings pop-rock to the table, while Dewey incorporates folk for a country-rock feel. Their unique sound has landed the band six albums that went gold or platinum, a Grammy for Best New Artist, an induction into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame, and numerous chart-topping songs.
