Plimoth Plantation is a living history museum that is dedicated to the authentic recreation of life in the Plymouth Colony during the 17th century.

Plimoth Plantation is located in downtown Plymouth MA. The Mayflower II is located nearby at State Pier across from 74 Water Street and is part of the experience.

Plimoth Plantation includes a Wampanoag Homesite where you will meet actual Wompanoag and other native people all dressed in historically accurate deer skin clothing and traditional housing that are ready to show you what life was like from their perspective during the colonial period.

There is also a 17th Century English settlement complete with timber-framed houses and townspeople who are more than willing to answer any questions. At the craft center you will be able to see everything from Native artisans making items such as sinew tools and porcupine headdresses to Colonial cabinetmakers, tailors and more. In the Rare Breeds Barn, historic breeds of sheep, goats, cows, and other animals found in Plymouth Colony in the 17th century are exhibited in a modern setting. The Plimoth Grist Mill is a working reproduction of the mill originally built by the colony in 1636. Plimoth Cinema features the latest independent and foreign films and down at State Pier you can tour the Mayflower II, a reproduction of a 16th century English merchant ship that is similar to the size of the original Mayflower.

While you're visiting in downtown Plymouth be sure to check out all the historic sites such as the famed Plymouth Rock, Burial Hill, Mayflower Brewing Company and take a sunset cruise around the bay on a paddle-wheel boat.
