Zoo Boise is located at 355 Julia Davis Drive in Boise, ID. The zoo is one of the attractions located within the Julia Davis Park. Zoo Boise is visited by over 350,000 people annually and is one of the most popular attractions in the area.
Over 300 animals make their home at this zoo, representing over 100 different species. The zoo’s mission is to teach awareness and appreciation of animals and their habitats, as well as the importance of conservation of the animals and the environment. A portion of every visitors admission fee goes to the zoo’s conservation fund that not only helps the animals in Boise but animals from all over the world. The zoo has raised close to $2 million for the conservation fund.
The zoo is a fun place to learn while playing. There are many special events held throughout the year as well as programs designed specifically for children and teens. Children can get up and close and personal and feed sheep, llamas, and goats. Other points of interest located within the Julia Davis Park include the Idaho State Historical Museum, the Boise Art Museum, and the Idaho Black History Museum. The park also has modern conveniences, a duck pond, playground, picnic shelters that can be reserved for parties and other events, a tennis complex, and a beautiful formal rose garden.
