The George Peabody Library in Baltimore, MD is located close to highway 83 in the very heart of the Mount Vernon region.

The library itself is housed within the Peabody Institute of Music, which offers a specialized number of books that focus their research on the 19th century in art, history, and culture. The building is located within the historic district of Baltimore and can be found directly across from the Washington Monument.

The George Peabody Library is a well-known landmark and has become a major event space for marriages or other special events. The library features six floors and boasts more than 300,000 books and volumes relating to the 19th century located on its shelves. A large number of people attend the library purely to take in the impressive building which was sponsored by George Peabody and designed by architect Edmund G. Lind. The library was intended to be free for all to use to help the people of Baltimore become culturally educated. During 2004, the library underwent a major renovation and is now restored to its original state with five cast iron balcony areas found on the upper floors.
