Description
Guided Electric Bike Tour Sweeping Historic Tour of Downtown with Views Photos (5)
  • Join us on a fun-filled and informative bike ride around downtown Asheville with an Asheville e bike tour! Meet us at our shop in the heart of the up-and-coming

    South Slope

     amidst the

    breweries, art galleries and restaurants

that are making a name for this neighborhood. After putting the

    electric bikes

to the test on a short ride up the slope, we will ride downtown past some of the unique local shops and businesses that make Asheville so different from any other city in the region.
  • Our first stop will be at the amazing

    Basilica of St. Lawrence

, a masterpiece of local architecture built by Rafael Guastavino, whose work is featured in Grand Central Station and the Biltmore Estate. We'll have the chance to go inside and explore the impressive structure, which features the largest unsupported dome in North America.
  • From there we will ride down the quiet streets of the

    Historic Montford Neighborhood

alongside some of the most beautiful grand old homes in Asheville. We'll then take the peaceful

Reed Creek and Glenn's Creek Greenways

past UNC Asheville before starting the climb through North Asheville neighborhoods up to the historic Grove Park Inn. We will walk through the Inn and get

a magnificent view from the Sunset Terrace

    .
  • After heading back downtown, we'll stop in

    Pack Square

, where Asheville was originally founded. Here is a perfect vantage point to learn about Asheville's history and its abundant

    art-deco architecture

, the second largest collection in the country. Our final stop will be in the heart of the South Slope, where we will share about the recent history of Asheville, its challenges and triumphs. Our ride will conclude at our

    225 Coxe Avenue location

    .

Pickup & Return:
225 Coxe Avenue. We are between Steel Root Builders and South Slope Crossfit. Look for the 3-bay garage in the gravel lot.
Departure Times: 9am, 1pm, and 4pm Daily
You can present either a paper or an electronic voucher for this activity.

Additional Information:

  • Confirmation will be received at time of booking, unless booked within 7 days of travel. In this case confirmation will be received within 48 hours, subject to availability
  • The electric bikes will take all of the hard work out of your ride. We routinely have riders that span the spectrum of age and fitness. The main requirement is that you be

    coordinated and

fit enough to balance a 55-pound bike

. A training and practice session is provided at the start of each tour. For people that would like to go on the tour but are not able to balance a bike, it is possible to arrange a ride on the back of one of our stretch cargo bikes that will be driven by another person in your party.
  • Legally,

you must be 16 years or older

to operate an electric bike. Guides reserve the right to request proof of age of any rider. Riders should also be at least 5 feet tall to operate their own bike. Guests younger than 16 may ride as a passenger with an adult in their group on the back of one of our cargo bikes or in a child seat (for children ages 1-6 or up to 48.5 pounds).
  • Infant seats

are available on request if advised at time of booking
  • Tours are subject to favorable weather conditions. If there is light rain in the forecast but none at the start of the tour, we will decide together at the time of the tour whether to ride. We will provide rain ponchos and rain covers for the storage bags on the bikes to protect your belongings.

If canceled due to poor weather,

you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund.
