Amish Acres is an 80-acre complex that is home to a restored Amish village, complete with log cabins, a distillery, cider mill, a one-room schoolhouse and a blacksmith shop. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places, and has been continually praised as a place that gives visitors an authentic look at how life was actually lived over 100 years ago. One of the main attractions at Amish Acres is the Round Barn Theatre, which has been home to the musical "Plain and Fancy" for over 30 years. The show is about Amish life, and originally opened on Broadway in 1955.
The living history exhibits at Amish Acres offer authentic demonstrations about blacksmithing, farming, cooking, and crafts. Lodging is available at Amish Acres on-site at the Inn at Amish Acres as well as at the Nappanee Inn.
