The Unser Museum is located at 1776 Montano Rd NW in Albuquerque, NM. The museum was the dream of Al Unser Sr. Visitors start with a guided tour to learn about the Unser family and their contribution to the racing world. The museum covers four generations of racing, has a variety of exhibits, a racing simulator, and other hands on activities for children.
The museum recently added an annex. In the annex, visitors will be able to view the trophy room, see even more race cars, and a library that contains the entire history of racing, as well as some really great artwork. Also on the premises is a gift shop to get a souvenir to take home. Visitors can also buy a brick for the brickyard and be a part of the museum history. Jerry’s Garage is available for special events and business meetings. Catering is available for all events held in the garage.
Everyone, young and old, will love looking at all the race cars and other memorabilia that is in the museum. There are other adventures close to the museum and they include the Challenger Learning Center, New Mexico, the Explore Science Center and Children’s Museum of Albuquerque, Rio Grande Nature Center State Park, the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science, the Albuquerque Biological Park, and the Petroglyph National Monument.
