Come enjoy over a week of fun in the American West, where you can explore historical monuments and majestic mountains from the Rocky Mountains to the Black Hills. You can learn about outlaws and Indian tribes and view wildlife and natural features throughout the Rocky Mountains and Western Plains.
DAY 1 – Arrive in Salt Lake City
Begin your vacation in Salt Lake City, visit Temple Square and watch a performance from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Enjoy a Get Acquainted Dinner and comfortable accommodations in Salt Lake City.
DAY 2 – Salt Lake to Jackson
From Salt Lake City you will ride through portions of Utah, Idaho and Wyoming en route to a resort in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Dinner will be provided at the hotel.
DAY 3 – Jackson to Yellowstone
Drive through scenic Grand Tetons National Park, with its breathtaking views. Arrive in Yellowstone National park, America's first National Park where you will spend two nights in a park hotel amidst Yellowstone's abundant wildlife.
DAY 4 – Yellowstone National Park
Spend your day in Yellowstone Park, with visits to the world famous Old Faithful geyser, the picturesque Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, and the wildlife rich Hayden Valley where you may see elk, bison, bear and other animals.
DAY 5 – Yellowstone to Sheridan
From Yellowstone you will venture east to Cody, Wyoming, home of the Buffalo Bill Historical Museum. Here you can enjoy a variety of exhibits including Western and Native American art. You will then cross the Bighorn Mountains and descend into Sheridan, Wyoming for dinner and lodging.
DAY 6 – Sheridan / Custer’s Last Stand Battlefield / Rapid City
Travel from Sheridan into the Black Hills, with a historic stop on the way at the Little Big Horn Battlefield, the site of General George Custer's fateful last stand where his cavalry was ambushed and annihilated by well prepared American Indian forces. Upon arriving in the Black Hills, you will visit the historic wild west mining town of Deadwood before settling down for the night in Rapid City.
DAY 7 – Mt. Rushmore & Black Hills Crazy Horse Memorial
Honor the nation's heritage with a visit to the Mount Rushmore Monument and the in progress Crazy Horse Memorial. After dinner, you can revisit Mount Rushmore a second time for a different perspective by viewing it under illumination after dark.
DAY 8 – Rapid City to Cheyenne
You will return westward, with a visit to Hot Springs, SD and a stop at Fort Laramie, WY a restored western outpost. Enjoy a farewell dinner in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
DAY 9 – Cheyenne / Denver / Fly Home
Finish out your tour in Denver, Colorado, where you can reminisce about your wonderful experiences in the American West.
From Yellowstone and Jackson Hole to Mt. Rushmore there is so much to see. View Old faithful Geyser and the Grand canyon of the Yellowstone. Take a walk through history at the site of Custer's Last Stand and Buffalo Bill Cody's Western Museum. You will have the time of your life as you enjoy the American West's many attractions and natural features.
