With Vicksburg, Natchez and Cajun Country you'll find a six-day excursion that will transport you back in time as you explore battlefields, visit mansions and relive the epic history found throughout the South. Day One - The first day of Vicksburg, Natchez and Cajun Country will take things lightly as you merely travel to Jackson, Mississippi and rest for the journey ahead.

Day Two - You'll depart Jackson for Vicksburg and start the day with a visit to the Vicksburg National Military Park. Here, you'll come to understand the important role the Mississippi River played during the Siege of Vicksburg. During your time at the Vicksburg National Military Park you'll have the opportunity to explore over 1,000 monuments, a restored Union Gunboat, National Cemetery, and even visit the USS Cairo Museum. The rest of your day will be spent in the city of Vicksburg as you enjoy lunch and visit the Old Court House Museum before departing for Natchez, Mississippi and taking in dinner at Magnolia Plantation, complete with tour.

Day Three - Day three will focus on the antebellum mansions of Natchez, including Longwood and Stanton Hall. From the elegant mansions the journey will turn towards the boondocks as you begin to venture into Cajun Country with a stop at Lafayette, Louisiana.

Day Four - During your first full day in Lafayette you'll visit a variety of cultural sights such as the Crystal Rice Heritage Farm and Atchafalaya Basin Swamp. The former will provide a first-hand look into the workings of a rice and crawfish farm, the latter will present a rugged view of Louisiana's natural lands.

Day Five - During your second day in Lafayette you'll visit the Mcllhenny Co., affectionately known as "Home of Tabasco." Throughout the day, you'll also make time to visit Shadows-on-the-Teche, the only National Historic House and gardens in the entire state,

Day Six - The final day of your journey will see you returning to Jackson, Mississippi, ending what will undoubtedly have been an immersive, interesting, and educational visit to the South!
