Enjoy a trip that highlights the nation’s heritage as you travel to historic sites like Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Colonial Williamsburg, Gettysburg, and the monuments in DC. See the Presidential estates of Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, and James Buchanan. Travel from the busy streets of Midtown Manhattan to the quiet pastoral farms of Central Pennsylvania’s Amish country, and on down to the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia.

Day 1: Arrive New York City, New York
Begin an incredible tour of America’s heritage in New York City, with accommodations near Times Square and Central Park.

Day 2: New York City - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania - Lancaster/Strasburg
Hearken back to the early republic and America’s founding with visits to the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall and relive the spirit of ’76.

Day 3: Lancaster/Strasburg
In the morning you will visit Wheatland, the palace home of 15th President James Buchanan. Stop at a farmer’s market and visit the Kitchen Kettle Complex before embarking upon a tour of the area’s Amish countryside. Spend the evening in an Amish home enjoying a home cooked dinner.

Day 4: Lancaster/Strasburg - Gettysburg - Shenandoah Valley, Virginia
Travel to the historic Civil War battle site at Gettysburg where a guide will describe the decisive Civil War battle. Later in the day, enjoy a scenic drive on Skyline Drive overlooking the Shenandoah Valley.

Day 5: Shenandoah Valley - Charlottesville - Williamsburg
Pay a visit to Thomas Jefferson’s famed Monticello estate before heading to Colonial Williamsburg. In Williamsburg, you will be treated to a colonial style dinner.

Day 6: Colonial Williamsburg
Experience the history of Colonial Williamsburg beginning with the movie “Story of a Patriot” and continuing with a visit to the Governor’s Palace and Gardens. You can visit many of the 88 restored buildings in the area.

Day 7: Williamsburg - Washington D.C.
Take a morning excursion to George Washington’s Mount Vernon plantation and enjoy exploring the grounds. Next, arrive in Washington D.C. and visit the world renowned Smithsonian Institution. View the Apollo Rocket, the Hope Diamond, and the National Museum of the American Indian. Spend the evening in the city at your leisure, where you may want to see the city’s monuments illuminated after dark.

Day 8: Washington, D.C.
Visit the Arlington National Cemetery, where you can visit the Kennedy gravesites and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Next, enjoy an informative stop at the White House Visitor’s Center, and take a tour that offers tremendous views of the US Capitol and several monuments and memorials. Finish the tour on Embassy Row with sobering stops at the World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam Veterans Memorials.

Day 9: Washington, D.C. - Tour Ends
The tour concludes, but you will have many memories of America’s heritage to cherish and share with others.

Relive America’s heritage as you travel through time to the settlement of Colonial Williamsburg and to the days of the founding fathers with visits to Independence Hall, Monticello, and Mount Vernon. Move forward into the 19th century with a stop where the battle of Gettysburg was fought. Relive the more recent past by paying homage to the fallen soldiers of World War II and Vietnam and by visiting the Kennedy gravesite at Arlington National Cemetery. Enjoy a heritage vacation that brings American history to life.
