Day 1: Vancouver, British Columbia - Tour Begins
Start your incredible tour of the Canadian Rockies in the beautiful coastal city of Vancouver, British Columbia.
Day 2: Vancouver
After a breakfast at the Capilano Suspension Bridge, visit an urban temperate rainforest at Stanley Park. Other stops include the oft photographed steam-powered clock that is a Vancouver icon, and a visit to Vancouver’s Chinatown.
Day 3: Vancouver - Victoria - Vancouver
A ferry ride to Vancouver Island, home of the gorgeous Butchart Gardens, begins the day’s travels. A tour of Victoria follows, before returning to the mainland in the evening.
Day 4: Vancouver - Rocky Mountaineer Train - Kamloops
You board a train en route to Jasper, Alberta. Along the way, towering snow capped peaks and deep canyons will mark your path. Today’s route will take you through the scenic Fraser River Valley.
Day 5: Kamloops - Jasper, Alberta
Today’s travels take you past Pyramid Falls and beautiful Mt. Robson. You will also see the glacial Albreda Icefields. Passing into Jasper National Park, look for moose, bear and other Rocky Mountain wildlife.
Day 6: Jasper
In addition to enjoying the beautiful town of Jasper, you will make a side trip to Maligne Lake, the largest natural lake in the Canadian Rockies, and an excursion to the impressive Maligne Canyon.
Day 7: Jasper - Icefields Parkway - Lake Louise
Today’s journey takes you through the core of Alberta’s Rockies as you travel from Jasper to the picturesque Lake Louise. A venture into the Columbia Icefields will give you an opportunity to ride across the thickest concentration of ice in the Northern Hemisphere, south of the Arctic Circle. The parkway between the Columbia Icefields and Lake Louise offers prime viewing opportunities for wildlife including elk, bear, and bighorn sheep.
Day 8: Lake Louise - Banff
Breathtaking views of Lake Louise and the Valley of the Ten Peaks will make this day unforgettable. In the evening you will check into the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, sometimes affectionately dubbed “The Castle in the Rockies”.
Day 9: Banff - Calgary
Another day in Banff includes visits to the Hoodoos and the lovely Bow Falls. Then it’s off to Calgary, where you can explore the city and enjoy your tour farewell dinner.
Day 10: Calgary - Depart for Home
