Day 1: Vancouver, British Columbia - Tour Begins
Begin your British Columbia vacation in the thriving city of Vancouver where you will be staying at the Westin Bayshore.
Day 2: Vancouver
Explore the temperate rainforest with a breakfast at the Capilano Suspension Bridge. Later, take a sightseeing tour of the city beginning in the urban rainforest at Stanley park, and proceeding to the busy waterfront and Vancouver’s Chinatown district. Finish your tour in the Gastown area where the world famous steam-powered clock sits.
Day 3: Vancouver - Whistler
Travel east to the ski resort town of Whistler, soon to host the 2010 winter Olympic ski events. Along the way marvel at the spectacular scenery and keep an eye out for native wildlife.
Day 4: Whistler - Rocky Mountaineer® Train - Quesnel
Take a train voyage along the Fraser River and enjoy breathtaking views of the river’s many canyons. Reach the evening’s destination when you arrive in the old gold rush town of Quesnal.
Day 5: Quesnel - Jasper, Alberta
Continue along deeper into the Canadian Rockies, where towering Mt. Robson at nearly 13,000 feet, rises far above the Fraser River. Cross Yellowhead Pass into Alberta and Jasper National Park, home to moose, caribou, mountain goats, and black and grizzly bears.
Day 6: Jasper
Start your morning with an incredible excursion into Maligne Canyon, a narrow gorge shaped by the Maligne River. The afternoon gives you free time to explore the beautiful town of Jasper and the wild lands that surround it.
Day 7: Jasper - Kelowna, B.C.
Return to British Columbia along the gorgeous Yellowhead Highway. Travel south to your accommodations in Kelowna, situated in the beautiful Okanagan Valley.
Day 8: Kelowna
Explore the fertile Okanagan Valley, beginning with a tour of the Quail’s Gate Winery, known for its exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines. Tour the Kelowna Farmer’s Market. Then take an excursion to a jammery, where jam is made. Finally, a visit to an organic Echinacea farm helps you learn about the uses of the Echinacea herb.
Day 9: Kelowna
Spend another day enjoying the Okanagan Valley. Visit a family owned fruit orchard before proceeding to the award-winning Summerhill Pyramid Winery, Canada’s largest organic vineyard.
Day 10: Kelowna - Vancouver
On your route back to Vancouver you will visit Hell’s Gate, a narrow gorge on the mighty Fraser River where water passes through with breathtaking power and volume. View the gap and the river from aboard a gondola suspended well above the water. Return to the city of Vancouver for a tasty farewell dinner.
Day 11: Vancouver - Depart for Home
Return home after an amazing tour through British Columbia and the Canadian Rockies.
