Adults: 3 Children: 0 Hometown: Peoria, IL

We were raised with the values of family, caring for others, and being there when needed. My brother Brad and his wife Cindy were able to share these values with my parents for their last thirty years while I moved with the U.S. Army years, joining my band of disjointed and happy travelling siblings. All of us left home to work elsewhere except for Brad. His lot was to never leave our hometown of Peoria Illinois. He stayed loyaly beside my parents to aid, coach, care for, and support my mom and dad and poured additional love into Cindy's father who also lived with them. But the last two years have been full of heartache for them and for my mother. However, now that my dad and Cindy's dad are gone, there is finally a chance that my brother Brad and Cindy may travel.
Brad and Cindy never had the chance to visit me in Alaska, Germany, Colorado, or any of the locations I served the nation. He was content to be available for my parents and to ensure they always had their needs met. They never had the opportunity to travel because of work, or family illness, or a lack of money. Many reasons I have heard over the years when trying to coax them into a visit, none of them ever selfish. Their hearts were always in the right place.
I believe that Brad and Cindy would love to travel to New York City, New York and see the glitter of the Big Apple, see the original Hard Rock cafe and, more importantly, to visit the site of the towers that were destroyed on 9/11 in 2001. They would love to see a show and want more than anything to travel to the top of the Empire State building and eat at Emerill's. They do not particularly enjoy the big city, but I think that a town as big as New York has the heart that matches the size of Brad and Cindy's. Mom and I can share company, she would love to hear of my experiences in Baghdad once I return.
