The year 2005 was a pretty rough year for her and her family. The beginning of 2005, we lost my father, Amy's grandfather and we found out that her father had cancer and was given six months to a year to live. Amy and her father had not been very close for some time, but had begun to work out their differences. Her father passed away in October of 2005, which devistated her. She has occurances of migranes headaches and in November, she had one for 5 days before she went to the emergency room. They performed all degrees of tests, but couldn't find anything that would cause the headaches. They performed a spinal tap on Saturday, but could not find anything in the test. On Sunday the doctor sent her home, only to return on Monday. The doctor sent her home on Wednesday, but couldn't make it to the car before she was sick to her stomach. The nurse sent her back upstairs to be re-admitted. The doctor performed another spinal tap, in her room, and discovered that her spinal fluid had been leeking from her spine since Saturday before. She had no spinal fluid in her spine or not enough to take more, but he did take three small viles. They performed a blood patch on Friday, and her headache was gone. But now she has problems with her speech, she stutters, has problems walking, she is using a cane. I would like to see them go on a vacation and maybe be able to relax and enjoy life for a little while. |
