3 Wonderful Children
My sons deserve this vacation because although they are currently doing well with the CF, they have all had major problems in the past. Tyler has had 2 surgeries already and been hospitalized at least twice with pnuemonia. Nick had to have surgery had 6 hours old to remove a third of his intestine that was blocked. Corey has had 3 surgeries and spent 3 months of his first year in the hospital with multiple lung infections. And despite all of this they all have wonderful dispositions. They handle all of their doctors appointments with ease and are willing to share what they know and understand about CF to others. A dream vacation would be great for this family of 5. With all the costs of having 3 children with medical problems, we don't always get to go away for any great length. The vacations we have had in the past are usually little weekend trips where every single penny is counted. A trip to Washington D.C. would be lovely. The kids would enjoy so much being able to see all the sights and monuments there are. And it would be a great way for all of us to relax and enjoy each others company and for a few days forget the hardships that await them at home. |
