Torture Museum is located on 740 Eddy Street in downtown Wisconsin Dells and is not far from other attractions of the Wisconsin Dells area.
There is parking available in front of the building but you will need your change for the parking meters. This museum is not for the faint at heart or children under 13 years of age. Many reviewers feel that the museum is not suitable for older children either. The torture museum has some graphic torture devices and photos that are not censored.
When you visit the museum you will find forty exhibits which show torture devices, photos of people being tortured and descriptions of the tortures. There is also a documentary that visitors can watch which goes further into the history and the process of torture rituals. To walk through this museum is to walk back in time to learn about the cruelty that many of our ancestors had to endure. You will learn about the reasons why and how these people were tortured.
Reviewers find this museum disturbing but interesting. Many say that the Torture Museum will leave you saddened and sickened by the practices of our ancestors. It will definitely be a trip you will be telling you friends and family once you get back home. It will leave an impression on you for awhile.
It will take you about a half hour to get through the entire museum but if you take your time and read all of the exhibits you could easily stay for longer. Admission is $7.50 and they will not allow anyone who is under 13 years of age. You can bring your camera for photos if you choose.
