Canyon Creek Riding Stable near Wisconsin Dells, WI
Canyon Creek Riding Stables in Wisconsin Wells is a family-oriented horseback riding tour that gives you a taste of the adventure of the Old West, but in Wisconsin. You will saddle up for an hour-long ride along a scenic trail. The horses are gentle and easy to manage even for first time riders. The stable has a lot of horses to rotate, so the animals are not over-worked. If necessary, a stool is provided to help you mount and dismount, and helmets are available for those who want them. A guide will adjust the stirrups so that they are just right for you. It is not recommended that you wear sandals for this ride.
As you ride along you will enjoy a trail that takes you through beautiful scenery along ponds and across running water. You will see many species of wild flowers. Motion sensors activate talking mechanical animals, which always delights the children. You will pass by Lost Canyon with excellent views of sandstone formations and where you might see a horse-drawn carriage.
The trail takes you through a 200 foot long tunnel that leads deeper into the woods. Then you will come to a replica of Tombstone, a legendary Wild West town. The sheriff of Tombstone will welcome you to town. He'll give you a brief history of Tombstone, and he'll tell you to be on the lookout for such dastardly outlaws as Jailhouse Bob, Black Bart and Dirty Dan. When you return to the stables, the kids can enjoy the petting zoo. This is a fun, safe riding experience for the whole family.
