Mary Jane Mountain is Winter Park Resort's has some of Winter Park's most popular terrain. Mary Jane Mountain opened in 1975 with 18 trails, adding 350 acres to Winter Park Resort. The mountain is named after a lady who lived in Arrow, Colorado, and purchased the terrain to transform it from sheep grazing trails to ski terrain. Throughout the years, the trails have drastically grown from the original 18. By 1986, Mary Jane had 20 more trails, which included some of the steepest trails in Colorado. Mary Jane Mountain is currently renowned for its bumpy terrain and tree skiing and riding.
Parsenn Bowl and Vasquez Ridge, Winter Park's ski areas, are located on Mary Jane Mountain. The mountain's Sunnyside Chair Lift began operation in the 1990s, and a triple chair lift to the back side of the Parsenn Bowl and 7 new runs will be in operation starting at the 2006-2007 ski season.
