Competitions and Holidays at Winter Park Resort

Upon visiting Winter Park Resort after its opening day of ski season, you'll find plenty of things to do around the resort along with skiing and other outdoor recreation. You'll have access to the resort's choice slopes with Winter Park Resort lift tickets, but keep in mind that the resort has many events during this bustling time of year. Winter Park has both annual and ongoing events during its winter season, making it a fantastic place for your next winter vacation.

Competitions

Because Winter Park Resort is a wonderful outdoor sports destination, this resort hosts many races and competitions, which are always great to watch. The events below are nationally renowned, so you may want to purchase your Winter Resort lift tickets during one of these competitions.

USSA Chevrolet SuperSeries NorAm Cup Women's Slalom/Giant Slalom at Winter Park Resort
This competition features women slalom skiers from North America and around the world. The first of its kind for women, this NorAm Cup features some of the world's top female skiers. Some renowned national and regional junior skiers will compete with the women featured in the competitions as well. The event is in late November and lasts from the 28th until December 1st.

The Wells Fargo Bank Cup
People of different abilities and skill levels come together to raise money for the National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD) in Winter Park. This competition features disabled skiers, Denver celebrities, former Denver Broncos, and audience members as well. The main event of this competition is the World Disabled International for disabled skiers. The Celebrity Challenge features competitions for Denver celebrities and Denver Broncos alumni. The competition also offers the Governor's Cup for audience members, who may sign up with a team to win cash prizes. The Wells Fargo Bank Cup takes place from February 22 until February 23.

Holidays

With holiday-themed events, Winter Park is the ideal place to spend any winter holiday. Thanksgiving — buffet or four-course gourmet meal, family-friendly events at the Village at Winter Park all weekend
Christmas — buffet or four-course gourmet meal, torchlight parade, Christmas caroling, church services
New Year's Eve — buffet or four-course gourmet meal, Jingle Rails Rail Jam
Valentine's Day — buffet or four-course gourmet meal

Even though it isn't an official holiday, don't forget about Spring Break. If you take your next Spring Break vacation at Winter Park Resort, you'll be able to enjoy some of the last days of ski season and catch some other great events at Winter Park Resort.
